Reasons To Switch To Natural Skincare Products

There are our major reasons to switch to Natural Skincare Products. As the body’s largest organ, your skin is frequently exposed to dust and pollutants. While it’s highly capable of shielding you from harmful chemicals, it’s unable to protect you from synthetic ingredients found in some products.

Lotions, body baths, facial creams, and serums are absorbed by your body minutes after skin application. Natural skin care is vital because it doesn’t contain compounds that may harm you with long-term use. This is crucial, as most users consider beauty and personal care products essential in their everyday lives—promoting self-confidence, well-being, and social interaction.

Recently, consumers have been pushing for natural skincare products to ensure safety and sustainability. If you’re one of the few who have yet to make the big leap, here are the most compelling reasons you should go natural.
What natural skincare product means

The natural health products market is a billion-dollar industry. Because of numerous options, it’s hard to choose the best natural skincare products, especially if you have combination or oily skin. A good rule of thumb is to look for organic certification from the Department of Agriculture’s National Organic Program. But it’s more crucial that you know what you put on your skin.

So, what makes natural skin products better than others? Read the list below to find the answers.

They don’t contain toxic chemicals

While you swear by the efficacy of your anti-aging serum or moisturizing cream, you’d probably start thinking twice if you knew the synthetic ingredients. As natural skincare products are plant-based, it’s crucial that they only throw in materials that aren’t laden with potentially toxic chemicals.

According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a non-governmental organization, these potentially toxic chemicals are often present in various skin and personal care products.

Formaldehyde is an antibacterial additive in some body washes, cleansers, and cosmetics. Reports indicate that formaldehyde may increase the risk of cancer and cause issues with the nervous and respiratory systems.

Mercury is often found in beauty products and may damage the nervous system and kidneys.
Phthalates improve the products’ texture. They may be harmful to the body, affecting the reproductive system and disrupting the hormones.

Polyfluoroalkyl and per- and M- and o-phenylenediamine are believed to increase the risks of certain types of cancer and may cause skin irritation.

Parabens are often used to increase the shelf life of most beauty products, including skin cleansers. They’re said to increase breast cancer risk and may impact the endocrine system.

Sulfates and fragrances, most often used in shampoo and body washes, are believed to cause skin irritation and may be a carcinogen. If you’re using whitening products, be careful with products with hydroquinone, as the substance is said to disrupt immune function.

They’re packed with essential skin nutrients

Humans have used natural and plant-based beauty and skincare products for centuries. For instance, aloe vera is known for its soothing properties and promoting skin regeneration. This wonder plant is also known to contain generous amounts of vitamins A, C, and E—a potent combination for skin firmness. Sunflower, which is packed with essential fatty acids and vitamin E, is said to be highly effective in combatting skin irritations and acne.

Some plants, such as Portuguese flora, have antimicrobial and antioxidant properties perfect for use as natural skincare products. The natural ingredients found in natural skincare products are teeming with the essential vitamins, antioxidants, proteins, and other natural compounds essential to make your skin healthy.\

If you’re one of the few who have yet to make the big leap, here are the most compelling reasons you should go natural. Some clinics even carry more natural products like dermatologists that provide skin care in Ahwatukee.

They’re eco-friendly

Most natural skincare products are plant-based, and it’s only fitting that manufacturers ensure sustainability by preserving the environment. By going natural, you’re also helping pursue this advocacy.

There are several reasons why using natural skincare products helps the planet. As they’re produced without harmful chemicals, no poisonous substances can harm other plants and animals that rely on the ground for food and nutrients. Additionally, most processes used in manufacturing these items leave less stress on the environment, helping reduce pollution and minimizing carbon footprint. Most of these items are also packed in recyclable packaging, which does the same.

They’re cost-effective

Most users may find natural skincare products slightly pricier than their synthetic counterparts. But the tiny amount that you add to the purchase price pays off down the road. You can’t put a price tag on your health, and considering the potential harm synthetic chemicals can do to your body, a few more dollars won’t matter.

You don’t have to run to the drugstore when you run out of natural skin products. When you’ve emptied your bottle and don’t have a new one yet, rush to your kitchen and see whether you have these kitchen staples in stock. Many women have been mixing brown sugar and coconut to make an organic lip scrub. If you want a natural face mask, you can use products at home—like avocado, lemon, coconut oil, banana, and honey.

The bottom line

When it comes to skincare, it’s best to stick to the basics. Plants have been used for their aesthetic and therapeutic properties for centuries, but synthetic products have stolen the spotlight for several years.

However, as consumers are moving to prioritize their health, it’s not surprising that the demand for natural skincare products continues to rise. If you love your body, you shouldn’t wait for longer to switch to an all-natural skincare routine.
