Are you feeling overwhelmed by the skincare trends and products available in 2023? You’re not alone; creating a simple, effective skincare routine that works for your skin type can seem like an intimidating task.

Whether you need to revamp your existing beauty regimen or start from scratch, rest assured knowing that incorporating a few basic rules into your daily routine can make a world of difference.

In this blog post, we’ll walk you through all the tips and tricks necessary to craft an easy-to-follow yet powerful skincare routine tailored specifically to you.

Wash Your Face

The first step on this list to creating a simple skincare routine in 2023 would be washing your face. When it comes to the frequency of face washes, you should aim to wash your face at least twice a day, morning and night. It’s suggested to use a cleanser when washing your face; however, a regular face wash for your skin type will work just fine.

When washing your face, you are going to want to rinse your face with water. After doing that, put a bit of a face wash or cleanser on your hands and then massage it into your face. Facial cleansers can be a great way to give your skin the special care it deserves. A cleanser specifically formulated for your face cleans away impurities, dirt, makeup, and oils while balancing the pH of your skin.

Regular use of quality cleansers such as the one Misumi offers also helps to maintain healthy-looking skin that is free from bacteria and excess sebum production. Once it has been massaged in you are going to want to rinse your hands and rinse your face until there is no more grime or cleanser.

Use Toner

The next step to creating a simple skincare routine would be to use a toner. While this step is not exactly necessary, it is highly recommended. This is because toners help to remove any pollution, dust, makeup bacteria, and dirt that could have been left on your face. In other words, it helps to prepare your skin for the rest of the routine.

Use a toner, but only a few drops on a cotton pad or your hands, and then gently wipe it onto your face. It’s important to note that some toners do have exfoliating properties; if that is the case, you are going to only want to use them at night.

Use Serum

Another optional step on this list for creating a simple skincare routine would be to use a serum. The reason that this step is optional is that it is not entirely necessary, but it is suggested to do since it will help to improve your skin dramatically.

In a nutshell, serums are highly concentrated and ingredient-specific, and they give your skin everything that it might need. For example, they usually come with antioxidants such as Vitamin C, which helps protect your skin. When using serums, you need to decide between an oil-based serum and a water-based serum, since oil-based serums are applied after moisturizer, whereas water-based serums are applied before.

Use Moisturizer

One of the most important steps to creating a simple skincare routine would be using a moisturizer. First and foremost, moisturizers help to lock in all of the previous products that you have just applied to your skin if you have applied. Secondly, moisturizers help to keep your skin hydrated.

It’s highly recommended to use a moisturizer in the morning and at night. This is because moisturizers are great at keeping your skin at a balanced level. In the morning and at night, there is an increased chance that you will develop oiliness or dryness. Some moisturizers claim to have sunscreen built in; however, you should get a dedicated sunscreen.

Use Sunscreen

Finally, the last step on this list to create a very simple skincare routine in 2023 would be to use sunscreen. Using sunscreen is the very last step in your skincare routine and should be applied regardless of whether or not you are going to be going outside.

Firstly, by applying sunscreen, you are protecting yourself against signs of aging as well as skin cancer. When buying sunscreen, you should find a sunscreen that has an SPF level of 30 or more. In addition to this, you should also find a sunscreen that has a broad spectrum, since this will protect you against UVA and UVB radiation.
