How to Help your Clients Struggling with Hair Loss in Lockdown

Lockdown is intimidating -- and so is hair fall. However, since communication channels are not blocked, you can treat clients by recommending relevant measures.

Being hit by a novel disease, witnessing large numbers of deaths and then getting locked in homes has undoubtedly influenced the mental health of us all. Facing severe hair fall is one of the unpleasant outcomes of the situation. Keeping in mind how the hair transplant cost in Turkey and other Asian countries is fairly low, masses were planning to take the treatment to counter hair loss.

However, with travel restrictions and doctor unavailability, this is not what they can do at the moment. But, if clients are reaching out to seek a solution to hair loss, this is how you can treat them without meeting:

Console your Clients

Either because of the sudden lifestyle change or due to the restrictions halting our way out, lockdown has affected us all in a way or another.  Consequently, the sense of being confined has led to stemming stress in the minds of people. And stress, in turn, triggers rapid hair fall, shares Mayo Clinic.

Thus, nipping this anxiety in the bud is the first thing you should do. Address what’s stressing out your patients and assure them that the turmoil will end soon. Exercising, meditations and doing activities to remain occupied are some of the other measures you can suggest adopting.

Since Covid-19 has limited everything to home, your clients might not have got the chance to catch some rays. This routine change affects lifestyle and eating habits. Besides, contracting the virus also results in causing nutritional or mineral shortages.

Inadequate supply of nutrients, especially iron, lowers the oxygen supply to cells. Which resultantly makes the hair dry and fragile. Similarly, thinning of hair can be an outcome of Vitamin D, Zinc or Selenium deficiency. Therefore, advise your patients a healthy diet intake along with prescribing supplements to cover the deficiencies.

Uphold the Importance of Haircare

Owing to the health concerns related to travelling, one cannot plan to go on medical tourism and receive rapid treatment for hair fall. Rather, they have to find a solution in the premises of their home. Also, the work break offers everyone a bright chance to invest time in grooming themselves.

So, aware your patients of the possible hair treatment ways. To bring back the sleekness of hair, you can suggest avoiding over-washing and frequent use of shampoos or conditioners containing harsh chemicals. Other than that, recommend them to keep the hair away from straightening irons or dryers as well as making strained hairstyles like buns or ponytails.

The Bottom Line

Lockdown is intimidating and so is hair fall. However, as the communication channels are not blocked, you can treat clients by recommending the mentioned or other relevant measures. If not beneficial, at least the guide will solace the patients until they get the chance to visit your clinic.
