NOMOS watches started in a market where some of the finest watchmakers are several hundred years old. A new upstart like NOMOS Watches from Glashütte, Germany needed to make a big statement to succeed and stay consistent. NOMOS utilizes 5th generation watchmakers and handles all the actual manufacturing in-house at their factory as a completely independent watchmaker with absolute quality assurance.

Nomos Glashütte has been in business since the 90s. They have already received over 130 awards despite being a small and young company. The DUW 1001, an 84-hour power reserve, and a manual-wind movement with a power reserve indicator are among their in-house calibers. The Nomos Swing System escapement is used in their newest automatic DUW 3001 movement. Here are a few Nomos Glashutte watches with outstanding features.

Nomos Glashütte Metro 38 (1112)

The Metro is a very beautiful collection that features Nomos Glashütte’s first in-house escapement, which provides optimum accuracy in all instances. All instruments, in addition to their precision, have a delicate grace. The Metro watch ref 1112 has a polished stainless steel case, a black leather band, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Its galvanized ruthenium dial displays the dot hour markers in black and mint green, as well as a fine printed minute track with Arabic numerals at 5 seconds/minute increments. It is driven by a manual winding Nomos in-house Caliber α (Alpha) movement with a 43-hour power reserve and a water resistance of 30m.

Nomos Glashütte Tangente 35 (133)

All Nomos Glashütte timepieces in the Tangente collection have a sleek design and an appealing charm. Each watch is expertly crafted and driven by a sophisticated movement, allowing you to enjoy precision to the second. This Nomos Glashütte Tangente ref 133 features a stainless steel case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a brown leather strap. Its midnight blue dial features printed hour markers in Arabic Numerals and indexes, a delicately printed minute track, gold-colored hands, and small seconds sub-dial. It is powered by a manual-winding Nomos Caliber α (Alpha) movement with a water resistance of 30 meters and a power reserve of 43 hours.

Nomos Glashütte Orion 38 (387)

Many consider Nomos’s understated Orion watches to be the most gorgeous. The purity of Orion makes ornateness appear superfluous. Its embossed indexes are finer set than any gold necklace, and its round shape is pleasing to both the eyes and the wrists. This Nomos Glashütte Orion ref 387 features a stainless steel case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a black leather strap. Its white dial displays the polished yellow gold index hour markers, fine black printed minute track, and tempered blued steel hands and small seconds sub-dial. It is driven by a manual winding Nomos Caliber α (Alpha) movement with a water resistance of 30 meters and a power reserve of 43 hours.

Nomos Glashütte Club Campus Neomatik 39 (767)

A Club Campus Neomatik watch has no airs and pleasantries, but it always looks fantastic in meetings, while jogging, or on the dance floor. Its interior qualities are just as impressive, with Nomos’ high-end, handcrafted calibers ticking inside. This Club Campus Neomatik ref 767 comes with a stainless steel case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a blue fabric strap. Its midnight blue dial features brilliant light grey hour markers in Arabic numerals, Roman numerals and indexes, polished rose gold hands, and a tiny seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock.
It is driven by an in-house Caliber DUW 3001 automatic movement with a 43-hour power reserve and 200m water resistance. It has the Nomos swing system and a bidirectional winding rotor that ceases to revolve when the mainspring is completely wound.

Nomos Glashütte Lambda 39 (953)

Nomos Lambda timepieces are another high-end series of Nomos Glashütte. The case of this Nomos Glashütte Lambda ref 953 is made of 18kt rose gold. It looks great with the basic brown leather strap with a tang buckle. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal guards the subtleties of this well-rounded watch. Its white dial displays a finely printed hour and minute track, tempered blued steel hands, a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock, and an oversized power reserve indicator at the upper half of the dial. It is driven by an in-house caliber DUW 1001 automatic movement with a water resistance of 30 meters and an 84-hour power reserve.

Nomos Glashütte Tangomat 38 (603)

Nomos Tangomat is a line of automatic timepieces that include features, including a date function and a GMT or world time feature. It is regarded as a more complex and larger derivative of the Tangente line. It has won multiple honors for its performance and accuracy.
Tangomat ref 603 is made of a polished stainless steel case with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and black leather strap. The finely printed minute track and little seconds sub-dial are visible on the exquisite dial. It is driven by the Nomos in-house caliber ε (Epsilon), which has a water resistance of 30 meters and a power reserve of 43 hours.

Nomos GlashutteAhoi 40 (555)

Nomos Ahoi is a 40mm stainless steel watch collection from the Aqua line with a water resistance of up to 200 meters and is driven by an automatic movement. This collection, which has won 9 honors, has a date function as well as other outstanding features.

This Ahoi ref 555 comes with a blue fabric strap and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Its white dial displays black printed hour markers with Arabic numerals and indexes, as well as a fine printed minute track with white luminous hour markings. The elegant dial also boasts a rhodium-plated polished hour and minute hands with light blue luminous fill, as well as a short seconds subdial with neon orange hand.

Final Thoughts

Accuracy and refinement are famous features of German engineering, and Nomos watches embody both. The watches are meticulously handcrafted in one of Germany’s finest watchmaking centers, and their distinctive, in-house-developed movements guarantee a high degree of precision. Such craftsmanship and creativity can be seen in the watches’ sophisticated and elegant designs, which have proven extremely successful among keen watch enthusiasts.
