5 Ways to Get Straight Teeth

Your mouth is among the major parts people look at when discussing, but all these can be ruined if you have crooked teeth. Crooked teeth are more common and noticeable than other teeth deficiencies, and they cause social embarrassment, isolation, worry, and a loss of self-confidence.

Crooked teeth also affect how you chew and talk and may even cause gum problems. However, it can be cured if done in time, and here are five ways you can get straight teeth.

1. Invisalign

Invisalign or clear dental aligners are a common trend. This creates straight teeth with the trace of invisible metal siding. The traditional method uses visible wires, but Invisalign uses clear aligners to hold the teeth in position while aiding support during movement.

If you choose this procedure, you’ll have to visit your dentist to replace each set after a certain period. However,  getting invisalign in Saskatoon and other cities around the world is better than visiting your dentist every month to tighten your braces. The device can be removed when you eat, brush, or floss.

Invisalign is essentially a comfortable and pleasant way to straighten teeth. However, the device is less effective in complicated orthodontic conditions, unlike fixed or lingual braces.

2. Find a Dentist

A dentist can restore crooked teeth in a few seconds. The dentist may be an orthodontist who uses braces, aligners, Invisalign, and retainers to straighten the teeth and align them with the jaw bone.

A trip to your dentist can be cheaper or more expensive depending on the dental issue or other factors such as experience, qualification region, etc. Keep in mind that the methods used by the dentist may not be suitable for everyone, and most people try to DIY their dental needs.

However, doing that can cause future conditions or complications. So, avoid using a rubber band or fishing line to align your teeth; that’s why dental professionals like EK dental group in Winnipeg exist with plenty of training in their field. A dentist or orthodontist should always carry out orthodontic cares or procedures.

3. Braces

Traditional braces are common among teeth with severe orthodontic problems. Sometimes, these braces are fixed after removing the aligner used to support the teeth at night. Braces are noticeable but hold more firmly and are less expensive than other methods.

However, traditional braces cannot be used to fix minor problems, are not easily removed, and must be changed monthly. Traditional braces are the go-to option if you intend to straighten your teeth but have a cheap budget.

4. Retainers

Retainers are created from wire and commonly worn overnight to maintain teeth’ position. You can use this orthodontic device to hold your teeth while you sleep. The method is a break from traditional braces.
Retainers are suitable for slightly crooked or crowded dental arrangements. They are sometimes removable, especially when fixing slightly crowded teeth. However, ensure the procedure is supervised by a professional.

5. Avoid Sleeping on Your Stomach

Sleeping on your side or stomach can cause a shift in teeth. The position inserts inward pressure on the teeth, causing a gentle shift in the dental arrangement. It also puts weight on your face, causing folded skin.
The pressure can be harder if you sleep with a hardened pillow, firm substance, or arm under your head as you sleep on your stomach. Sleeping on your back using a soft pillow will prevent the repositioning of your teeth.
