What is En Bloc Capsulectomy?

The Difference Between An En Bloc & Total Capsulectomy

En bloc capsulectomy is when they remove the implant together, removing the capsule completely. There would be some scar tissue that would be formed around the implant. The whole implant would be removed whole, with the implant inside the capsule, that is what the en bloc technique is.

Total capsulectomy, on the other hand, is when the capsule material would be removed in separate pieces, compared to en bloc capsulectomy where they would be removing it whole. After they would remove the implant, the capsular material would be removed so you have to be aware that you could completely remove the capsule.
