Delicious Summer Food Ideas to Try

Summer is a time for festivities, relaxation, and good food! Whether you’re looking to impress your guests at a backyard barbecue or cooking a relaxing dinner on the patio with friends, plenty of delicious summer recipes can help make your meal special.

The best part is you don’t have to be an expert chef to prepare a hearty and mouth-watering dish. The recipes below are easy to cook and ready to eat in less than an hour. So whether you’re celebrating a birthday party, a housewarming, or want to have fun under the sun, these dishes will surely give you a reason to party all summer.

Summer Appetizers

Appetizers are a great way to start the party. It will keep your guests preoccupied while you’re cooking the main dishes. Fortunately, these are only small servings, so preparing them will take some time.

Super Sausage Rolls

The first appetizer is sausage rolls, which are made with shortcrust pastry. To prepare:

  1. Roll out the pastry and apply a thin layer of chutney.
  2. Place the long sausage meat on top.
  3. Once done, cut it into 5 cm lengths and let it chill on a baking tray before baking.

Once done, enjoy while drinking an ice-cold beer near the swimming pool!

Greek Shrimp Bruschetta

Greek shrimp bruschetta is a crowd favorite since it’s tasty. It is unique because you can transport your guests to Greece with its Mediterranean flavors. Plus, use an Italian antipasto to capture its true essence. In addition, shrimp gives it a whole new dimension.

Easy Scotch Eggs

Another easy appetizer that you can finish in 40 minutes is easy scotch eggs. Furthermore, everybody can get involved in the process. These are boiled eggs wrapped in sausage meat with breadcrumbs. And you can even add this to your menu if you want to open a restaurant! It’s an ideal image to put in your car signs since they look appetizing.

Summer Entrees

After the appetizers, you’ll want to serve your main course. These should be hearty enough to keep your guests happy and full. Plus, some of these are an ideal option to add to the signs for your business truck if you want to turn your cooking ability into a passion business.

Grilled Vegetable Skewers

The first summer entree is grilled vegetable skewers, a great vegetarian option. You can use any vegetables like bell peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, tomatoes, and onions. Then skewer them on bamboo sticks and season them with olive oil. And voila! You already have a yummy vegetarian main course.

Buffalo Cauliflower

Another vegetarian entree is the buffalo cauliflower. However, tons of meat lovers enjoy this American classic too. Your batter mixes flour, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and buttermilk. After that, dunk in your cauliflower and bake for 25 minutes. Mix hot sauce, maple syrup, and butter to coat the florets. Pop in the oven for ten minutes, and serve with a side of ranch dip with some celery!

Tuscan Style Grilled Kebabs

The sunny features of Tuscany are now ready for you to eat in one stick! Tuscan-style grilled kebabs are chicken with vegetables seasoned with lemon, rosemary, oregano, and garlic. You may serve them with brown rice for a complete and satisfying dinner with your friends and family.

Side Dishes

Side dishes should always complement the main course. However, summer-friendly side dishes are versatile and great for whatever type of entree you have. So if you’re searching for a great side dish recipe, try the ones below.

Elote Avocado Corn Dip

You can mix both if you’re a big fan of corn and avocado. Add cheese, spice, and lemon; you now have the elote avocado corn dip! It’s an excellent option for fiestas and summer parties where you can dip whatever you want, such as grilled chicken, vegetables, nachos, and more.

Roasted Mexican Street Corn with Queso, Cilantro, & Chile

Another choice for corn lovers is the roasted Mexican street corn. You can add cheese, cilantro, and chile for that spicy flavor. But before all that, it’s smeared with mayonnaise before drenching it with cheese. Add pepper and salt for that savory taste.

Cherry Tomato Salad

If you want a simple side dish that bursts with flavor, then cherry tomato salad is a side dish you should take advantage of. It offers a refreshing taste, which is a must-have during the summer season. Mix feta cheese, oregano, shallots, parsley, and garlic, and you get a healthy salad.

Summer Beverages

The life of the party is cold beverages that will quench your thirst while you’re outside. It can range from cocktails to non-alcoholic drinks. Your guests will love these, especially during the hot summer season.

Mojito Pitcher

One pitcher can already serve six people, and it’s a famous cocktail everyone is familiar with. So you can always go right with this yummy drink. You need white rum, lime wedges, and mojito ingredients to make it. You can use other fruits, such as strawberries or mango, for a twist!

Rumberry Punch

You only need three simple ingredients to make a rumberry punch. These are cranberry, rum, and ginger ale! But it’s not for the faint of heart, and one punch can serve ten people already. You can add fruit slices, such as pineapples, oranges, and apples, for a more aesthetically pleasing look.

Watermelon Lemonade

Using an empty watermelon husk as the pitcher is already a great way to start. It can also be non-alcoholic, so it’s an ideal drink for kids. It’s also very healthy, which is excellent for those who passionately hate sodas.
