If you want to rise in the corporate ranks and climb the rungs of the business ladder, then there’s no doubt that you need to develop an ability to get more done in less time. Simply put, you need to increase productivity at work.

But actually doing so is no easy task. Luckily for you, we’ve put together ten actionable tips on being productive that you can start implementing today.

1. Move Your Phone Away

The primary source of distractions for many a worker is—you guessed it—your phone. Move your device away so that you aren’t constantly distracted by the ding of yet another notification, and there’s no doubt you’ll get more done.

2. Don’t Check Email Religiously

Checking your email can be a huge time suck during the day. Instead of constantly checking it throughout, check it at defined time intervals where you focus on email. This will allow you to stay on task with the jobs at hand.

3. Use a To-Do List

A to-do list organizes your day into bite-sized chunks. Build your to-do list the night before you actually come into work if you want the ultimate productivity boost. Make sure to check things off as you go.

The big-picture tasks that move the needle on the larger goals you are trying to accomplish are the tasks you should focus on. Don’t let the nitty-gritty of the day-to-day tasks get you down.

5. Delegate

Delegate tasks whenever possible. Use your coworkers and team appropriately or (better yet) outsource tasks to a cheaper labor source if you have the funds.

6. Improve Hard Skills

Improving your hard skills, be it your typing ability, technical knowledge, or coding adeptness can improve your productivity at work. In addition, gaining certifications for those skills can help you be a more marketable employee.

7. Use Calendar Time Blocks

Blocking time off in your calendar will ensure that you get time in your day to do your tasks. It’s hard to be productive when you’re stuck in meetings all day.

8. Get Enough Sleep

A productive day starts with the night before. Go to bed at a reasonable time so you can ensure that your body gets enough rest to perform at its max potential.

9. Start the Day with Exercise

Exercise stimulates the brain. This will in turn help you to think quicker and get more done when you show up for work.

10. Be in an Ergonomic Position

Last but certainly not least, better ergonomics can ease discomfort and improve your productivity while at work. Look into getting an active sitting chair to help your posture and productivity both.

How to Increase Productivity at Work, Made Simple

There you have it. Now that you know how to increase productivity at work, all that remains is for you to start implementing these tips
