Real Estate Agents

Real estate agents are becoming more and more important in California. You do require a license to become a real estate agent in California. The real estate market in California is strong, but you should note that some areas are more popular than others. People interested in this path need to have excellent skills and the ability to work well under pressure. There will always be a need for these agents in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, and other areas.

Many people who stay there for their careers or retire to the state choose to buy homes instead of rent, which means that real estate agents will continue to be vital when purchasing a home and when selling one. The value of real estate is predicted to increase throughout the next decade, and with that increase, there is a need for more real estate agents.

Healthcare

Careers in the healthcare industry

are expected to continue growing at a faster than average rate throughout the next decade. The growth makes sense when considering that California is home to many people and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. With comes increases in illness and injuries, which boosts the need for qualified medical professionals.

Medical professionals are needed in all areas of healthcare but become more needed in primary care, general medicine, and psychiatry. Areas that need to be filled are family medicine doctors, internists, pediatrics, psychiatrists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, OB/GYNs, cardiologists, urologists, otolaryngologists (ENT), geriatricians, and oncologists.

Let’s not forget about all of the roles in administration to help run these large hospitals and healthcare groups. Becoming a hospital administrator has become a popular and crucial career path for many, given the rapidly expanding industry. Just as there are specialties in medicine, there’s a wide array of concentrations within hospital administration.

Construction Workers

The construction industry is certainly a good career area to consider. Many kinds of construction jobs are available in California, including entry-level positions such as construction laborer, brick mason, framer, electrician, foreman, plumber, roofer, and excavator. There are also more advanced careers available in the construction field, which include supervisors and managers. Jobs will always be available for construction workers in California because there is much to build in this state.

Teachers

The need for new teachers is expected to grow faster than most other occupations through 2022 because of recent retirements and early departures from the workforce. This type of growth will primarily occur in the fields of early childhood and secondary education.

There is a high need for teachers specializing in mathematics, science and technology, and special needs children. While this area does require a bachelor’s degree, other requirements may be necessary, such as of certain educational principles or passing scores on tests required by the state Board of Education. Teachers in California are paid well when compared to other states in the country.

All of these jobs have a positive outlook with high projected growth rates into 2022 and beyond. The prospect of finding a stable career that pays well is becoming increasingly difficult when considering the increasing cost of living, student debt, and lack of available positions. In California, the situation is not much different.

Fortunately, California is now experiencing a favorable job market, bringing about an increase in open positions. People who are willing to relocate may find greater opportunities than the ones found where they presently live.
