When it comes to technology, so much of our lives now rely on it. We wouldn’t be able to pay for our morning coffee without our phones to tap on the machines. So it should come as no surprise that Apple are coming out with a brand new product that pushes technology to the next level. Let’s take a look at the Apple Vision Pro and whether or not it’s worth putting yourself on the wait list for.
What is the Apple Vision Pro?
The Apple Vision Pro is the newest form of technology to come from Apple. We’ve had a lot of new phones but there hasn’t been a new piece of technology from Apple in many years.
But the wait doesn’t have to continue for too much longer. The Apple Vision Pro is a spatial computer that blends the physical and digital world simultaneously. This is almost like having a permanent virtual reality headset on and they look very similar. However, instead of being fed a virtual reality, you’re watching both at the same time.
This allows you to experience the virtual and real world without one impacting on the other. There is a fully three dimensional interface that allows you to use apps using your eyes, hands and voice. This allows you to operate it whilst doing other things and gives you a hands free option as well.
The operating system will be completely different to the system that we use on iPhones and other Apple devices. It will feature the completely new visionOS which has been created especially for this device.
This will be the first ever spatial operating system and it allows users to interact with apps as if they are physically there in front of them. The operating system will be the first of its kind and therefore could come across a few issues when it’s first brought out to the public.
The screen of the Apple Vision Pro is another design achievement. Apple have managed to put 23 million pixels into the two displays alongside a dual chip design that has been created in order to give the user a unique experience.
The goal is to make it seem like the virtual and the real are coexisting and that there is no gap between them. This was the focus when Apple were creating the product and everything has been built upon this idea.
Should you buy the Apple Vision Pro?
The Apple Vision Pro sounds promising but it does come with a big price tag attached. It’s stated that when it comes out, it will cost 3,499 USD which is a considerable amount more than your average virtual reality headset.
But this definitely isn’t your average virtual reality headset. There are plenty of elements that are completely new and have never been seen before. So, if you’re a fan of tech, this could be a worthy investment.
There’s the EyeSight element that is composed of an OLED screen so that the users eyes can be seen to the outside world. This gives the impression that the headset is made completely out of glass and that you can observe the user.
This will then cloud over when the user is in the VR space so that others are aware. This might sound like something we’ve only seen in films but could well become our new reality. Although whether or not it would come in handy in the next year is another matter.
When does the Apple Vision Pro come out?
The Apple Vision Pro is set to come out into US Apple stores in early 2024. It will then make its way into other stores across the globe. It might seem like a bit of time to wait but we’re sure it’ll come around very quickly.
When the Apple Vision Pro comes out is also subject to how well it does in the US along with other factors. It all depends on distribution going smoothly as well as ensuring that there are no delays to manufacturing.
How much or how little demand there is in the product will also dictate how long it takes to arrive in certain countries. Apple tend to test run their products in the US and then see how many people are on waiting lists across the globe.
But something as unique and new as the Apple Vision Pro means that there will probably be more demand for it rather than a newer iPhone model.
