Ready To Drink Cocktails: A New Beverage Trend

Ready-to-drink cocktails, also known as RTDs, are pre-made alcoholic beverages that are packaged in cans or bottles and sold in liquor stores, grocery stores, and online. They are designed to be convenient and easy to consume, requiring no preparation or mixing. Simply open the container and enjoy.

Ready-To-Drink Cocktail Production

Ready-to-drink cocktails are made in a similar way to traditional cocktails, but the process is scaled up and automated to make it more efficient. The ingredients are mixed together in large batches, and then they are carbonated and pasteurized. This helps to preserve the flavor and quality of the drink, so it can be enjoyed weeks or even months later. After the drink is mixed, it is packaged in cans or bottles and then shipped off to retailers.

Differences From Traditional Cocktails

The main difference between premade cocktails and traditional cocktails is the way they are made and consumed. Traditional cocktails are typically made to order by a bartender, who measures and mixes the ingredients by hand. Ready-to-drink cocktails, on the other hand, are pre-made and packaged, making them easy to grab and go.

Another difference is that traditional cocktails can be customized to suit your taste, for example, adding more or less sweetness, more or less of a certain spirit, etc., whereas with RTD, you are more limited in customizing, and you have to rely on the taste of the specific product you choose.

Why Should You Consider Buying Ready-to-Drink Cocktails

There are several reasons why ready-to-drink cocktails may be a good option for you.

  • Convenience – One of the biggest benefits of ready-to-drink cocktails is the convenience they offer. They are ready to consume straight out of the bottle or can, making them perfect for parties, picnics, and other events where you want to serve drinks but don’t want to spend hours mixing and preparing them.
  • Variety – Ready-to-drink cocktails come in a wide range of flavors and styles, from classic favorites like Margaritas and Old-Fashioneds to more unique and experimental flavors like hibiscus-ginger and lavender-lemon. So, you have much more variety to choose from compared to traditional cocktails.
  • Time-Saving – Another benefit of ready-to-drink cocktails is that they save time, especially if you’re hosting a party or event. You don’t have to spend hours preparing and mixing drinks; you can simply serve them straight from the bottle or can. This is also beneficial on days when you only want one serving of a cocktail, and the effort of making one from scratch is not worth it.
  • Consistency – One of the most challenging things about making traditional cocktails is ensuring that they are consistent in taste and quality. With ready-to-drink cocktails, you can be sure that the drink you’re serving will taste the same every time you buy it.
  • Variety Of Packaging – Ready-to-drink cocktails come in different sizes of packaging; you can buy them in a single-serve can or a bigger bottle; this gives you more options on how to share or enjoy the drinks.
  • Low-Calorie Options – Some premade cocktail brands offer low-calorie options, which are a good alternative for those watching their weight. This is a great feature since cocktails can have up to 300 calories per serving.

Overall, ready-to-drink cocktails offer a convenient and easy way to enjoy your favorite drinks, whether on your own or for parties, picnics, and other events with other people. With the wide range of flavors and styles available, you’re sure to find something you like.

And, with the time and consistency benefits, it’s definitely worth considering ready-to-drink cocktails as an option for your next gathering.
