How to Afford to Buy Living Room Sets

No one should feel like they have to deal with ratty, used furniture to have a living room set. Even if the living room sets they sell are on the expensive side, most of them are willing to finance just about anyone with a steady paycheck.

Getting financing through the furniture store.

If you’re trying to build credit, buying a home furniture on credit is a great way to do so while getting something you really need. Getting financing through the store itself is usually easier than getting approved for a major credit card, making it more accessible to a larger demographic.

Use your own established credit.

On the other hand, if you have excellent credit or a low interest card with the available funds, you will probably want to look at other options. The interest rates on store financing are usually on the high end. If you have a portfolio of cards, look at all of your options carefully to choose the least costly.

Try a rent to own furniture and appliance center.

When all else fails, go where credit doesn’t matter. Most communities have at least one store that offers a rent to own program based on income alone. You will end up paying at least twice what the furniture is worth if you go that route, so it’s not the best option.

If you are in a pinch and can’t get your credit approved, it is a way to furnish your home quickly. They’ll even deliver. (You’ll see them again if you miss a payment.)

Save your pennies.

Not too many people have actual pennies accumulating these days, but you can do the same thing with some clever banking. Chime is one bank that allows account holders to round their transactions up to the nearest dollar, socking that extra change away in a special savings account.

Anyone who used to save their pennies in a jar can tell you that change adds up fast. You should be able to easily afford to buy living room sets of your choosing within a year or less, without changing any of your current spending habits.

Look for last season’s hottest items at online furniture stores.

Online home furniture stores always stock up big on the most popular items. If they overbuy, you reap the benefits. The biggest brands can be found at deep discounts just by looking at overstocks or clearance items. You can also find bargains on currently trending furniture if the online outlet was able to get them at a cheaper price.
