How does wheelchair tennis work?

Wheelchair tennis is a modified version of traditional tennis that is played by individuals with physical disabilities that affect their ability to walk or run. Another great sport to wager at 1xBet is cricket, and here you can get rewarding IPL lines and odds to make fantastic bets. It follows the same basic rules and principles as traditional tennis but is adapted to accommodate players who use a wheelchair.

Wheelchair tennis is played on a standard tennis court, and the rules for scoring and serving are the same as in traditional tennis. However, there are some key differences that make the game more accessible for wheelchair users. The odds and lines for the IPL and tennis competitions, present at 1xBet, can help punters perform wagers that can be quite profitable as well.

Differences with traditional tennis

Although wheelchair tennis, by definition, is a variation of tennis, some of its rules have been modified so wheelchair users can play it properly. Kabaddi also involves plenty of rules, and you can wager on all of them at the https://in.1xbet.com/line/kabaddi online bookmaker.

Some of the most important differences between these two kinds of tennis are:

ADVERTISEMENT
  • the ball can bounce twice before a player must hit it, whereas in traditional tennis, a player must hit the ball before it bounces twice;
  • the size of the court is slightly smaller in wheelchair tennis, as here it measures 10.97m x 5.49m instead of the traditional size of 23.77m x 8.23m;
  • the net height is also lower than in traditional tennis, which makes it easier for players to hit the ball over the net.

At the 1xBet platform you can always wager on lots of occurrences that happen in tennis matches too. The bounce rule is particularly important, as it allows wheelchair users more time to move and position themselves to hit the ball.

How is this sport played

Players use a specially designed wheelchair, which is lighter and more maneuverable than a standard wheelchair. It is always possible to find new tennis betting odds at 1xBet, which features lots of variations of this sport to wager.

The chair must have two large rear wheels and one small front wheel, and the player must have one hand on the chair at all times during play. The game can be played by both individuals and doubles teams, with players ranked according to their level of ability. The ITF governs wheelchair tennis, and tournaments are held around the world.

The scoring system in wheelchair tennis is the same as in traditional tennis, with games, sets, and matches. However, all professional matches are played in the best-of-three format. At 1xBet it is possible to find new and the best online tennis betting odds, which can be used on all kinds of tennis forms too.
