Brazil, France, and England have the best odds to win the 2022 World Cup

Many football fans will have been waiting patiently for the FIFA 2022 World Cup to start this year, with their patience being tested a little more than normal as we have to wait until the winter.

Of course, with the high temperatures in the region, it is no surprise that the tournament has been pushed back to the winter. Indeed, this will see some competitive football be played across Europe’s top leagues beforehand, which can have a positive impact on the chances that some teams have of winning the biggest prize in football.

In fact, Brazil, France, and England might be three teams that may benefit greatly because of this, as these three nations have been made favourites to the competition. In this article, we will take a look at each team and explain why they have been given the odds that they have of winning.

Brazil

Brazil is the +500 favourite to this year’s World Cup. France, the defending World Cup champion, is valued at +550, and England, which finished second at Euro 2020, is at +650. Brazil’s position as the favourite is strengthened by G’s relative weakness. The Brazilians would play the No. 2 team from Group H in the opening round if they the group. They are in the same group as Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon.

Brazil is in G for the 2022 World Cup, along with Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon. The previous time around, Group E was split among Brazil, Serbia, and Switzerland. There, Brazil defeated Serbia 2-0 and matched the Swiss at 1-1.

It then comes as no surprise that the Brazilians presently have the best World Cup odds for the upcoming competition. They are the only nation to have participated in all 22 tournaments and to have a record-setting five victories.

They will, however, want to try and end the two-decade drought that has been experienced, having last won the tournament back in 2002 when it was held in Japan and South Korea.

France

France could be the first team to consecutively the FIFA World Cup since the 1962 Brazil squad. In 2018, the French finished first in C with seven points. After moving on to the knockout round, they defeated Argentina 4-3, Uruguay 2-0, and Belgium 1-0 before defeating Croatia in the championship match, 4-2.

Australia, Denmark, and Tunisia are included in France’s group. While Denmark is unquestionably the No. 2 squad in the group, France is the clear favourite to win D.

It is a that many expect Les Bleus to coast through, but as we know and have seen so many times in football, this is not always the case. Indeed, France has had disastrous World Cup campaigns in the past, despite having an exceptional squad to hand. Hopefully, that does not happen in the Cup for them.

England

In the 2018 semi-finals, England was in fantastic shape but their run was cut short when they gave up a goal in extra time. Indeed, many in the country had felt that was the best opportunity that Gareth Southgate’s men had to “bring football home”, however, they ultimately stumbled when it mattered and found it difficult to progress.

Nonetheless, after an impressive 2020 UEFA European Championships that saw them defeated in the final on penalties by Italy, there will be plenty of confidence regarding their chances of finally winning.

In B, England is grouped alongside Iran, Wales, and the United States. As a result, the Three Lions will be confident they can sweep everything in 2022, but they will have to perform nearly flawlessly.

England shouldn’t have any problems with Iran. However, Wales and the USA may pose more difficult challenges. Only twice have the Three Lions and Americans squared off in the World Cup: once ended in a crushing stalemate in 2010 and once in an American miracle triumph in 1950.

Conclusion

Of course, we will see a total of 32 teams take center stage this November, however, Brazil, France, and England are the three teams to look out for if you are thinking about the next 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.
