Joe Rogan is Talking About Warzone Cheating Problems During His Podcast

It’s no news that cheating is a major problem in Call of Duty’s Warzone. However, you know things are getting out of hand when popular host Joe Rogan brings it up on his podcast. This happened on an episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ earlier in March. Rogan is baffled by how cheaters manage to do it and the ways in which they’re advancing. In all honesty, so are we! Let’s take a look at what he had to see about cheating in Call of Duty Warzone and why it matters to the gaming community.

What Did Rogan Say About Warzone’s Cheating?

Much like all of us in the gaming community, Rogan has had it with cheating in Call of Duty Warzone. He complained about how cheaters had ways to find players and target them with insane accuracy. The podcast host also mentioned how their weapons almost seemed modified based on how accurate and damaging they were. He said that they’d kill you again and again based on their ability to lock in on your location.

He also compared Warzone to one of Call of Duty’s earlier games called Quake. Rogan was surprised at how fast Call of Duty has gotten. This only confirmed his suspicion that it isn’t possible for players to be so accurate all the time. Soon after starting his discussion, he even showed a website page where you could buy high-level cheats on monthly subscriptions. He went on to explain how users could apply these ad hoc cheats during the game with no issue.

Most Common Types of Cheating Addressed

Players use a lot of different cheating hacks when it comes to Call of Duty. The ones Rogan talked about typically include aimbots and target-enhancing cheats. These cheats allow the player to lock aim on enemies and ensure 100% hit accuracy. Another cheat he talked about was how the players would know his exact location every time he respawned. They’d come after him and target him to kill him over and over again. Undeniably, these are two of the most effective cheating hacks a player can use in the game.

Other exclusive cheats available on subscription allow users to be able to see through walls and buildings, make flightless vehicles airborne and enhance their weapons. Since most of these cheats are on subscription only, you know cheaters intend on using it. There are many public cheats and hacks as well, but they aren’t as effective. Yet, Call of Duty Warzone is full of all kinds of cheaters.

Here’s What The Gaming Community Thinks

The interaction under Rogan’s podcast was massive because the gaming community could relate to it. It’s a fact that many people game for fun, and cheaters ruin the fun for everyone. Many people in the gaming community have brought up how it’s never just one or two people in a game using cheats. There are groups of cheaters that join lobbies together to form teams and almost ensure wiping out all other players. A lot of people feel that no matter how talented they are at the game, they can’t win against the accuracy cheats have to offer.

Similarly, cheating isn’t limited to casual gaming either. Cheaters enjoy ruining casual and competitive games alike. It has gotten so bad that many believe the official rankings of players in the game are far from reality. The community thinks that many people in the ranks use cheating to climb their way up overnight. There even exist accounts with 100% win rates and close to no mess-ups when playing the game. The worst part? Warzone’s anti-cheat is oblivious to it all. So, no wonder the gaming community is fed up with the amount of cheating going on.

Aren’t Call of Duty Devs Taking Any Actions?

With so many complaints, one must think that Call of Duty devs aren’t working at all to curb this issue. But, in truth, Warzone gets updated pretty frequently with patches and updates to address the cheating. The latest update came in February 2023 when devs promised that cheaters would be tracked and their accounts would be suspended. It focused on the use of aim and target-enhancing cheats as well as the abuse of glitches in the game code. This new update also focused on disabling the code of limited-time event benefits.  However, these measures and the massive account ban wave Warzone went on haven’t been able to deal with the problem effectively.

Firstly, the AI-enhanced monitoring system is slow to catch onto the cheats being used. Similarly, it heavily relies on manual reporting, and no clear way of managing reports against players has been identified. There’s always the chance that a reported player might clear evaluation even if they’ve been reported for the right reasons. At the same time, many people abuse the report option as well. On the surface, it’s a game of cat and mouse between the devs and cheaters. Where cheaters expose a vulnerability in the game, the devs are quick to look into it. When the devs put forward a new patch or update, the cheaters tend to find loopholes almost instantly.

What It Means For The Future of Online Games

The bottom line is that cheating spoils games like Warzone for everyone. Whether you’re the average Rogan playing from your basement or The Joe Rogan, it’s equally as unfair to you both. No matter how advanced cheaters and their hacks may get, ultimately, it’s the responsibility of the devs to fix the issue. They are in charge of proviing a fun and seamless gaming experience, something Call of Duty has not been able to do. And it’s not even that this problem is too new; it’s been going on for years. If anything, people were less excited about Warzone 3 because they felt it wouldn’t be much different. Although a lot of changes, especially in terms of security, were promised, players have yet to see a difference.
