San Francisco State University offers both online and hybrid online/in-person courses to its students. The $2,500 tuition includes all textbooks as well as 160 hours of clinical learning experience.
The remote course is self-paced, and students are allowed up to 6 months to complete all of their work. The hybrid course lasts 7 weeks and requires several days of all-day attendance.
California Regional Occupational Center offers a one-year medical assisting training program that is great for high school students who want to jump-start their careers. They offer financial assistance and boast an impressive 92% employment rate.
The hybrid program at CROC allows some flexibility while still providing in-person teaching and opportunities for hands-on experience.
The US Career Institute has a self-paced, online training program that allows you the flexibility to study whenever you have the time. They also offer payment plans of just $70 per month for students who face financial barriers to education.
Long Beach City College offers a medical assisting associate degree program as well as certificates for clinical and administrative medical assisting. The certificate programs can be completed in two semesters, and tuition for in-state residents is only $1,500 per year.
You can enroll in medical assisting courses either online or at one of 15 San Joaquin Valley College locations. They offer both Certificate of Completion and Associate of Science Degree programs. San Joaquin Valley offers a high-quality education but is one of the most expensive. Tuition at San Joaquin is about $18,000 per year.
