The first thing that caught my attention was the FOLDTAN M-160 frame. It is a folding electric bike to get into a compact size. However, the frame is well-built and feels quite sturdy and robust to ride on. With this rugged frame, this e-bike can also be a handy option for recreational trips on the trails. By following a few steps, you can fold it down and reduce its size to make it more portable to carry around. Moreover, the size of this compact e-bike is also engineered to make it the perfect companion for urban commuters. It feels quite agile and can easily get through tight spaces and traffic congestion easily.
For going out on different trails and roaming around town, the FOLDTAN M-160 is definitely a viable option. The folding e-bike didn’t disappoint in terms of acceleration and riding range and performed better than my expectations. Powering this e-bike is an Addmotor branded 750-watt hub motor that has tons of torque on tap. The motor is powerful enough to power this folding electric bike on paved roads as well as up hills, providing smooth acceleration. The torque sensor on the M-160 is definitely an impressive upgrade. It performs efficiently and amplifies the signal of pedaling to engage with the motor. Because of the accuracy and precision of this torque sensor, I felt like riding a normal bicycle, as there were no delays or sudden jolts of power. There are 7 levels of pedal assist, so I could figure out which level suits the terrain. The twist throttle also provides smooth acceleration and plenty of torque to get over different types of surfaces.
The 750W motor is paired with a 48V*20Ah battery pack to provide up to 907 peak watts. The estimated miles per charge range of this folding electric bike is up to 100 miles in PAS1 mode, which is also pretty impressive. The battery is integrated inside the frame, giving this bike a sleek look. Moreover, the built-in battery is also safe from external factors like dust or water which adds to the safety of the motor. As it isn’t exposed to anything, I’m sure it will perform well for 1000-1500 charge cycles, as stated on the website.

With their superior stopping power, I felt an immediate sense of control and confidence while riding. Whether I was cruising down steep descents or navigating busy city streets, the brakes delivered instant responsiveness and allowed for better control. With a motor cutoff sensor, the motor disengages as soon as the brakes are applied, ensuring an extra layer of safety and further conserving battery power.
On the other hand, the preload adjustable front suspension fork on the FOLDTAN M-160 also provided a smooth and comfortable ride, even on rough and uneven terrains. I could easily adjust the suspension to suit my preferred riding style and the specific trail conditions, allowing me to fine-tune the bike’s performance to my liking. The suspension effectively absorbs shocks and vibrations, minimizing fatigue and providing an enjoyable and controlled riding experience.

Additionally, the electric bike offers an adjustable saddle so you can move the seat cushion forward or backward to ensure a comfortable ride to the maximum extent. By having the option to customize your sitting position, the M-160 can easily accommodate riders of different heights. To provide space for your belongings, the folding bike has a rear rack attached which can carry up to 25 kg of maximum load.
