1. Strategies
A win in golf is to get the ball into the hole. The tee box is the first strategy in which the golfer decides where to hit the ball off from the tee.
For a good set-up for the game, you will need a small slice or hook to use the fairway efficiently. Consider the location of the hole and the force of the wind as well. Observe the layout of the course to get to the green. Tee on the opposite of the wind if it is too strong to take advantage of it. The other strategy is the short game . This consists mainly of putting and chipping. A golfer learns this technique from experience as you get a feel for the game. Make sure also to bring a golf stand bag for better storage of your other golf accessories needed for the play.
2. Grip
The golfer needs to get the grip right, though it can take some time to master it. However, a golfer must take the time to learn since it is vital to the success of his game. There are three types of grips;
● Interlocking Grip
In an interlocking grip, the small finger is inserted between the index and middle finger of the left hand. Golfers with small hands prefer this grip for the hands to work together. This grip helps to balance the two hands such that none is dominant over the other.
● Baseball Grip
The golfer aligns his ten fingers neatly on the grip without any of the interlocking or overlapping. The grip is named baseball as it has a close resemblance to the hold of a bat in a baseball game.
● Overlapping Grip
In this grip, the right pinky is placed on top of the gap between the index and middle finger of the left hand. Players with large hands prefer this grip as they need to control the pressure of the grip.
3. Stance
Stance is the posture the golfer adopts as he swings the golf club. The stance helps the golfer to square the clubface and get the most distance out of each shot. The stance also determines the impact position in an accurate manner. There are three types of stances:

● Driver Stance
The attributes of a driver’s stance are feet wider shoulder-width apart, the ball opposite left heel, left toe (for the right-handed golfer) flared toward the target a little, and balanced weight.
● Wedge Stance
In the wedge stance, have your back straight, the arms straight out, the knees flexed to get the club behind the ball. The wedge stance uses the same basic stance you would apply with any other club.
● Iron/Hybrid Stance
The short irons are played in the middle of your stance. Place about half an inch toward your front foot for each of the longer clubs. Use a driver to place the ball slightly inside the front foot.
4. Swings
The swing is the action by a golfer of hitting the ball in the golf sport. A golfer requires precise grip, stance, and feet movement techniques to have a successful and consistent swing. There are many different types of golf swings that can help you to be a great player. Professional golfers swing the club in different ways and release it differently as well. The swings that matter most are the backswing, downswing, and release swing.
● Back Swing
It is the point where the game starts, and you set your body for what is to come.
● Down Swing
The golfer lowers the club right before the impact.
● Release Swing
The action of hitting the ball to bring it home. It’s essential to choose the right swing to win a game as it is a vital technique in the game.
