5 Long-Term Disabilities That Requires A Superior Lawyer

If you can’t work because of a long-term disability, it feels like a kick in the teeth when an insurance company rejects your claim. Luckily, you’ll be able to hire a great lawyer to fight for your disability benefits.

Some disabilities are more common than others, which makes it easier for lawyers to win the case. If someone else is awarded benefits, you should be given them too. Let’s look at some you’ll see regularly.

1. Musculoskeletal System Issues

The musculoskeletal system includes your muscles, nerves, spinal discs, connective tissue, and bones. If you have degenerative disc disease, it’s sometimes so bad you can’t get up, so you’ll have a hard time working.

Even if you rupture a disc, you could be unable to work for a while. Some problems start to appear as you get older, like arthritis. If you work in certain professions, you’re more likely to suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome.

2. Serious Mental Health Problems

You probably won’t need a disability lawyer if you suffer from depression and anxiety, but some mental health problems are more debilitating. Bipolar disorder and schizophrenia are examples everyone knows.

Even though you suffer from serious mental issues, it’s sometimes possible to keep your symptoms under control with the right medication and therapy. So you’ll need a good lawyer to prove you’re incapable of working.

Some disabilities are more common than others, which makes it easier for lawyers to win the case. If someone else is awarded benefits, you should be given them too. It’s a lot easier for lawyers to negotiate your disability benefits if they can provide examples of other people with the same disability receiving compensation. What are disability benefits? Generally speaking, benefits vary depending on your job, income, and specific injury. Now let’s look at some common disabilities you’ll see regularly.

3. Physical Injuries From Accidents

You might need a personal injury lawyer in Oshawa, ON if you get injured in an accident. Maybe you’ll win enough cash to keep you going for a while, but people who get into serious accidents don’t always go back to work.

If your injury is serious enough, it could lead to a disability that prevents you from working. Everyone would pretend their injuries were serious enough for benefits if it was easy, so you’ll need a lawyer to fight for you.

4. Circulatory System Problems

Most people who survive heart attacks will go back to work. If you’re suffering from heart failure, a doctor will usually be able to keep it under control. Sometimes the problem is serious enough that you can’t work.

If you suffer a bad stroke, it’s not easy to work again. Even if your long-term outlook is bright, you could be unable to do much for a while. Circulatory system issues account for a small percentage of people on benefits.

5. Chronic Organic Brain Syndromes

Once Alzheimer’s disease and dementia get bad enough, it’s impossible to work. If your family members have suffered, you’ll understand why. Sadly, they don’t just occur in people who should be retired due to their age.

Delirium and amnesia would fall into this category. I’m sure you can understand why a lawyer would need to fight for anyone who suffers from these illnesses. It’s very hard for people to prove how bad they are feeling.

Speak To A Lawyer Soon

If you don’t think you’re capable of working due to any disability, speak to a lawyer if you can’t claim disability benefits without one.
