Better Business Bureau Serving the Pacific Southwest (BBB) has named five winning companies for their 2021 BBB Torch Awards for Ethics in Orange County. This distinguished award honors businesses that go above and beyond to operate with integrity and raise awareness about marketplace trust.

These exemplary businesses have displayed an outstanding level of commitment to ethics and trust in four categories: character, culture, customers and community. Winners have illustrated the character of their organization’s leadership, how an authentic culture is being fostered, how their company prioritizes its relationship with customers, and the impact the organization is making in their community.

BBB announces this year’s Torch Award winners:

Category I Winner (1-10 Employees):
Dale Carnegie of Orange County
“We’re extremely excited that the Better Business Bureau has recognized us as a business that provides the community with services that go above and beyond with integrity, fairness and honesty,” shared Mandi Morgan, Regional VP and Executive Consultant.

Category II Winner (11-50 Employees):
Moffett Plumbing & Air
“I know [our team] works very, very hard to go above and beyond in every situation, and they put a lot of hard work and thought around making sure we’re respected around the community,” said Michael Moffett, General Manager and CEO.

Category III Winner (51-199 Employees):
Tax Relief Advocates
“[Winning this award] validates everything this company was based and formed around, which is ethics, integrity and empathy,” shared Jeff Nickel, Chief Marketing Officer.

Category IV Winner (200+ Employees):
Optima Tax Relief
“We’re so proud of how our staff goes above and beyond day in and day out to make sure that our clients are taken care of. We embody the caring environment so our customers know we are doing what’s right for them,” said David King, CEO.

“This is the fifth year BBB has been recognizing outstanding companies in Orange County for their solid commitment to doing things the right way,” says Shelley Bradley, Director of Signature Events for BBB Serving the Pacific Southwest.

“The Orange County economy is filled with diverse industries, each excelling in their own unique ways. To highlight these exceptional companies, BBB is proud to host the inaugural Torch Award for Ethics celebration in Newport Beach, dedicated to the area’s top ethical businesses,” Bradley says.

The signature event was held at the Hyatt Regency John Wayne Airport where winners, finalists and community members celebrated the importance of a trustworthy marketplace. Keynote speaker Bob Dalton, Founder and CEO of Sackcloth & Ashes, spoke about entrepreneurship and social sustainability as his mission-driven company donates a blanket to a local homeless shelter for each one purchased.
