The Power of Positivity in the Workplace

The Power of Positivity in the Workplace

After spending an ample amount of time in the working world, fulfilling the responsibilities that bring you or your company the most success usually becomes habitual. From everything to completing sales, forming new relationships, and leading a team well, there is no shortage of tasks that can elevate a company to the next level.

Habits are wonderful as they allow easy planning and familiarity with the task, both which only leads to increased efficiency. That being said, the working world is made up of human beings with incredibly tangible and valid emotions that require some management of their own. Overlooking these on any level could transform a highly effective office space into a slow-oozing swamp that lacks sincerity and fails to meet performance goals. Paying close attention to the emotions, and working to influence them positively, is far more advisable. Author Joyce Meyer said as much, “A positive attitude gives you power over your circumstances instead of your circumstances having power over you.”

There is far more than what meets the eye regarding the power of positivity in the workplace. To help you understand just how much of an impact it can have, we connected with a few people who have made this practice part of their lifestyle.

Make the most of your chances

Any person with even a miniscule amount of business experience knows that to achieve, one must take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves. Standing pat will only do for a company what that person did for the company – nothing. There is no telling when the next opportunity might come along.

Furthermore, provided you have done your research and the opportunity is what it says it is, it could be the springboard to launch your company into a higher class and number of clients. Asker A Ahmed is the Director of iProcess, a brand offering biospecimens, testing, and artificial intelligence services. He suggests the power of positive thinking will allow any person to do as much.

“Our general attitude affects our outlook on life. Whatever we constantly dwell on will change how we interpret our environments and how we view ourselves moving forward. If this outlook is generally negative, then we won’t believe that we can achieve much of anything. Therefore, thinking positively as a daily practice should be introduced to your daily routine. That is, if you want to make the most of your business chances.”

Increased communication

Despite each brain residing within each physical body, most people can gain a sense of the tone of another person’s brain through other ques. Say a person’s brain is constantly running on the fumes of negatively driven thoughts. Their vocabulary, demeanor, and even treatment of others will reflect this. On top of this, the people who are around said person regularly will come to expect this type of negative behavior. Nobody wants to be the person who stands in the way of open communication because their thought life influences their conversations in an unintended manner. ETIAS is a business providing the latest news and analysis about European Travel. Their

Director of International Development, Ryan Azimi, advises positivity in the workplace to combat this.

“For as much as we want to believe that we are in total control of ourselves, that is simply untrue. Our brains have this natural way of running, operating, and processing the world around us that takes place with or without our consent. It feeds on what happens in our everyday lives to accomplish this. If negativity is the only food you’re consuming, your ability to communicate positively and as an extension, helpfully, will suffer greatly.”

Lower stress

Working in a professional setting is many things but if one is certain, at least from time to time, everyone who resides in it experiences stress. Between the meetings, interpersonal relationships, potential consequences, and more, there is an endless supply of causes for stress. Obviously, this is a feeling no person wants to have as part of their work life, but unfortunately, it is the cost of doing business per se. However, positivity in the workplace has the ability to reduce the amount of stress a person undergoes. California Honey Vapes specializes in vapes, apparel, accessories, and batteries. Their CEO, Chris Coote, considers it vital to make certain you are implementing this approach to your thought life.

“What many people don’t discuss when it comes to stress is the harm it does to a person’s attention to whatever they’re attempting to focus on. At work, this can mean missing an important detail or forgetting about a meeting. Working to lower this stress and regaining some of that concentration by being positive is wise.”

Problem solving options

One of the biggest issues with a person who maintains a negative mindset is their tendency to stick their feet in the sand and remain there, so to speak. An example of this is two salespeople who have unique pitches for how to best secure the next big client. One of these salespeople is willing to compromise some aspects of their pitch to create what they believe to be the most effective road forward. But, the other salesperson, with their feet in the sand, states that it is their pitch or nothing. Not only does this create an uncomfortable situation, but it also inhibits progress. Lilian Chen is the Co-Founder and COO of Bar None Games, a brand offering unique live-hosted team trivia games for organizing virtual team-building activities. She cautions others not to be the latter person in this example and instead lean into positivity in the workplace.

“Honestly, I could create a lengthy list of benefits that positive thinking can introduce to your work culture. But, the one that is absolutely worth highlighting is the problem solving options that accompany it. If people hold the belief that whatever is in front of them is accomplishable, they’re far more likely to come up with more problem-solving options that you might imagine.”

To sum everything up here in brief, the power of positivity in the workplace can improve and even revolutionize a company in more ways than this article can possibly put into words. Thankfully, author and former business executive Seth Godin, summed up this idea, “Optimism is the most important human trait because it allows us to evolve our ideas, to improve our situation, and to hope for a better tomorrow.”
