In today’s technology-dominated world — where nearly all of our communications and work occurs online – iron-clad cybersecurity is more critical than ever. This is where Trustgrid enters the conversation.

The Sydney, Australia-based company has created the world’s first digital trust ecosystem, enabling individuals to take control of their identity information by using pioneering cutting-edge identity verification technology to secure a safe transfer of personal information.

Following its worldwide launch on March 23, 2021, Trustgrid interfaces between government entities and private organizations by securing digital ecosystems anywhere in the world with autonomous control of data and maximized citizen privacy.

“We deliver this outcome with unlimited scale and unprecedented speed,” says Trustgrid Founder and CEO Santosh Devaraj. “We orchestrate multiple state-of-the-art technologies into a single platform, combining innovative cryptography, data privacy, confidential computing and blockchain distributed ledger technology into a highly customizable digital ecosystem platform.”

What Trustgrid has pioneered has turned the space upside down. Its SaaS based consortium platform that runs on cloud driven confidential compute base, future extends to create blockchain ledgers based on Grid architecture as service nodes to enable privacy preserved transactions for all proof of requests.

Currently, Trustgrid’s trailblazing technology is being used by various government agencies in Australia– and is available in the U.S. and Europe.

Its groundbreaking development of the digital ecosystem technology was a five-year process. It was Devaraj’s expertise in cybersecurity that spearheaded the company’s triumph and historic accomplishment.

“It’s an understatement to say it’s taken five years because we’ve been in the cybersecurity world for about 20 years. We were fortunate to work with local governments to understand inter-agency workflow dynamics as well as the many political barriers and legacy systems of different agencies in order to develop solutions that would be mutually beneficial.” — Trustgrid Founder and CEO Santosh Devaraj

Whether at the individual, organizational or governmental level, one of the mammoth challenges in the launch of Trustgrid was commercializing and efficiently sharing information between organizations.

“How do you distribute the knowledge and share the knowledge?” Devaraj says.
“How do you educate the community about what the ecosystem is? That’s taken us longer than the technology itself.”

Navigating through these obstacles is commonplace for Devaraj. In fact, the problem-solving skills required for a career in cybersecurity is what attracted him to the industry in the first place.

“When you look at multiple industries, such as medical versus software engineering, there’s a lot of choices there. For me, the element that attracted me the most about cybersecurity was thinking about what doesn’t yet exist,” he said. “I learned what doesn’t exist or merely exists in a different form. There were only a few students in my major at The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. That was challenging and I love a challenge. I love doing research.”

He also loves “fixing governments and organizations by melding multiple state-of-the-art technologies into a single platform,” he says of Trustgrid, which combines innovative cryptography, data privacy, confidential computing and ledger technology into a highly customizable digital system.

Technological advancements aside, what is extraordinary about Trustgrid is Devaraj’s resilience and passion to never stop moving forward.

“I was born to do this. It wasn’t a choice. I have known since I was a young.’ I already knew back then what I had to do. When I did my Masters, the first thing I was looking for was to attain certain experiences, achieve certain milestones, and then create something extraordinary.”

In this case, it was Trustgrid. His expectation with Trustgrid is that in 20 years there won’t be a centralized Database. There won’t even be a single monolithic centralized system / operating environment that moves/ processes data: “That’s exactly where information gets compromised. With Trustgrid, we provide the glue to collaborate and give total control back to individuals and entities.”
When Devaraj sees how enthused government entities and businesses are when he pitches Trustgrid’s game plan, ideas and the information, “it’s surreal,” he says. “I admit, I am incredibly proud of what has been achieved so far.”

Devaraj relishes his early experience as an entrepreneur and what it takes to break through barriers: a relentless work ethic, inspiration and spirit.

“Every entrepreneur goes through a certain time in life that makes them want to compromise their goals and take the safer path,” he says. “To me, that’s a time of reckoning and you’ve got to stand up and say, ‘I’m going to keep going. I’m going to push on and hurdle through the challenges.’

“Going through that is so important; it’s not about pass or fail, success or not being successful. It’s just breaking down those obstacles, impediments and complications. Every entrepreneur must go through that. It’s what gets them to where they want to be. Everyone can start, not everyone will finish.”
