When Jose first walked into Maximum FICO Score in Bakersfield, his credit score sat at 450. He had been denied for car loans, personal loans, credit cards, and a home loan. He had carried the weight of past financial setbacks for years — the kind that quietly closes doors before you ever knock on them.
Roughly six months later, Jose’s score broke 700.
Isaac PalaciosHe qualified for a home loan. He was approved for a credit card. He stopped flinching at lender pre-approval letters. And his story — the kind of story that plays out for thousands of families across California’s Central Valley — is exactly the transformation Isaac Palacios built his company to deliver.
“Have a good relationship with God, stay healthy, and stay happy. You are the only one who can achieve that — no one else will give it to you. And of course, stay away from bad debt.”
It is a line Palacios repeats often — partly because he is a man of faith, and partly because he has lived the inverse.
A Crisis That Became a Calling In 2006, Palacios and his wife launched Skyler Realty in Bakersfield. By every external measure, the timing looked promising — California’s housing market was at a full sprint. Within months, that sprint became a fall.
The 2006 housing bubble burst. Subprime mortgages collapsed the broader financial system. By 2008 and 2009, Palacios — like millions of other Americans — found himself on the receiving end of a crisis he did not cause but had to survive. He lost a property through a short sale. Credit cards went into collections. The income that had built his young real estate business evaporated almost overnight.
“I lost practically everything we worked for,” he recalls. “I needed help to learn the financial game and to learn new strategies.”
What followed was not a rescue. It was a rebuild. Palacios and his wife taught themselves credit repair. They learned loan modifications. They negotiated with banks and lenders, account by account, line by line. Slowly, they reduced their debt, restored their credit, and reclaimed their footing.
The idea that would eventually become Maximum FICO Score took root in that recovery.
Born in El Salvador, Built in Bakersfield Palacios was born in El Salvador, into a family of entrepreneurs. His father owned land, worked in agriculture, sold farming equipment, and crafted leather saddles by hand — the kind of craftsman who could trace his work from raw material to finished product. His mother ran a small restaurant.
That blueprint — work with your hands, serve your community, stand accountable for what you produce — is the one Palacios carried with him into adulthood, and ultimately into Maximum FICO Score.
“I describe myself as a Christian,” he says. “I am a believer in God. I try to stay healthy and happy at all times. Help others before helping yourself.”
The company’s internal theme reflects that ethos directly: Moving Forward With Integrity.
A Different Kind of Credit Repair Company Founded in 2016, Maximum FICO Score was built deliberately against the grain of an industry that — fairly or not — has long carried a reputation problem.
“We use transparent, legally compliant strategies — grounded in the Fair Credit Reporting Act — to dispute inaccurate items and help clients reach their maximum potential FICO® score,” Palacios explains.
The numbers reflect that approach. Since opening its doors, Maximum FICO Score has:
Served more than 5,000 clients Delivered average credit score increases of roughly 200 points, typically within 60 to 180 days Earned a BBB+ rating Maintained full FCRA compliance Held active membership in the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce For Palacios, those figures represent more than business growth. They represent thousands of clients like Jose — families whose finances, dignity, and futures were quietly restored.
The Real Estate Through-Line What sets Maximum FICO Score apart from competitors is not only its compliance posture or its results. It is the perspective Palacios brings from two decades inside California’s housing market.
Skyler Realty — founded in 2006 — and Skyler Property Management LLC give Palacios a vantage point most credit specialists never see: the full pathway from credit recovery to homeownership to long-term wealth.
“Starting our business in 2006 was the best thing I ever did at that time,” he says. “I learned so much from my mistakes, learned from others, and stayed in compliance. My wife and I had so many challenges because of credit — not knowing where to go for help, ignoring the system, living paycheck to paycheck. We knew we needed to change. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. Now we share that experience and help other families build a positive financial platform of their own.”
The Audience That Trusts Him Palacios’s reach extends well beyond his Bakersfield office. Across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, he has built a combined following of more than 40,000 consumers who turn to him for credit education, consumer-rights explainers, and practical financial-literacy content.
His Instagram audience alone exceeds 14,900 followers. On TikTok, more than 24,200. The content is plainspoken, practical, and entirely free — which, for Palacios, is the point.
“I’ve helped thousands of clients, which I’m very proud of,” he says. “I’ve also helped others become business owners themselves — teaching them about credit, real estate, and the home loan process.”
What’s Next for Maximum FICO Score Palacios’s vision for the next chapter is straightforward and ambitious: scale the model.
He plans to expand Maximum FICO Score’s services and reach, mentor more entrepreneurs into the field, and continue widening the bridge between credit education, real estate, and small-business ownership through Skyler Realty and Skyler Property Management.
“I would like to help more business owners and get more people involved to do what we do here at Maximum FICO Score,” he says.
It is, in many ways, the same work he started doing two decades ago — only with more reach, more evidence, and more conviction. From a short sale in 2008 to a 5,000-client practice in 2026, his story is the very arc he sells: rebuild, restore, advance.
Move forward with integrity.
