There is no place in the world as electric as New York City. Not even Paris, Los Angeles or London. Here are some tips on how to make the most out of this very unique traveling experience to NYC.

The more tickets you can get online the better

To get the most out of your trip you will want to avoid waiting in queues to get tickets for tours, museums, and other interesting places. One of the most remarkable tours is the Empire State Building tour. You can find the tickets in advance online and if you plan to travel to NYC with Hellotickets you will not have to worry about waiting in line to get the tickets. You will still have to wait just a bit to pass through security but overall your time will be much shorter.

There are also numerous other tickets that you can buy in advance online. Sometimes, this way of getting tickets is not only faster but it is also cheaper. You get the ticket online in an email, print it out and you are good to go. This way you will have more time to focus on doing all of the sightseeing that you will be doing. Plus, you will be doing it stress-free not having to worry if you will make it on time.

Make a plan at home on what you want to see

This tip is useful for any kind of trip but it only gets more useful when traveling to a big city such as NYC. You are not aware of how huge this city is until you are there and see it with your eyes. Of course, no plan can be perfect, but it will serve as a good guiding point. Check out how much time you need from one place to another on google maps or another type of service that calculates the regular commute to a place.

Use the public transport

Using a yellow cab iconic to NYC sure seems very nice, but is not the most efficient way of transport. It is very expensive and it is not much faster than using the very well-connected subway system. Not only is it more efficient to use the subway, but it is also much more iconic to city life. If you truly want to experience what it is like to be a local, then use the subway and see what the people are like. Just do not forget to wear a mask, even when there is no pandemic there are so many people in there.

Eat at local places

Many people will usually choose to get their food from very popular food chains. They seem to be very popular with the locals and are cheap so why wouldn’t they? If you are in a situation where you can eat from places that are not so mainstream then go for it. There are so many places you can check out in this multicultural city that serve better food. It is not only better but you will also get a much more intimate experience from the local chefs and hear their unique stories from the city.

People are nicer than you think

In a big city, it is very hard for everyone to be well behaved and with good manners. There are always some people who are dangerous or are just rude for no reason. You will run into a few of them if you stay long enough, there is no doubt about that. Otherwise, the people are actually much more chill than what people talk about. They usually talk about the negative aspects, but here you will meet so many different people that are very nice and pleasant to talk to.

New York City is a very unique place that you should definitely visit at least once in your life. The multicultural nature of it is what makes it so unique and the people that make it be like that. No city is perfect and New York is nowhere close to being perfect. But it is still a place that unites so many different things and it should serve as a model of what bringing together different things can offer.
