Buying a Gift for that Person Who is Impossible to Buy for

We all have that one person in our lives who is absolutely impossible to buy for. Either they already have everything, or they are extremely picky about what they like and do not like. The best way to find a gift for someone is to think about their hobbies or interests, but sometimes those interests are not conducive to gift buying.

For example, if your friend is really into vintage cars and expensive watches, that does not give you much to go on when buying them a little secret Santa gift. We have compiled a few pieces of advice with some suggestions to help you through this difficult period.

Personalize

A great go-to for difficult people is to personalize an everyday object, such as a photo mug or some stylish canvas prints featuring pictures of their pet. By putting a photo on something, it comes across as a thoughtful, well-planned gift, but it requires very little effort on your part. And you can stick a picture on almost anything.

This is great for people with pets or kids; surely, anyone loving parent would be happy with a cute mousepad with a photo of their children printed on it. If you do not want to use a photo, you can personalize something with their name or initials. A more original and surprising idea would be to personalize something with a funny quote they have said or a phrase they often use.

What do they like to eat?

Take notice of what they like to eat and drink. Do they have a sweet tooth? Do they like to try new restaurants? There are plenty of edible gift options out there for anyone who loves to eat. You can get them a candy or chocolate hamper, or you can buy a basket and create your own hamper using all their favorite types of snacks.

If they are partial to a drink, then that is a great choice, too – find out if they like red or white wine and then search google for a nice bottle. Look up good restaurants in their local area and get them a gift certificate. A Starbucks gift card for the coffee lover or a set of flavored syrups so they can make their own.

What are their habits?

Is there a store that they are always talking about? Do they like to shop online? If someone likes designer clothes, you do not have to break the bank; just get them a voucher or gift card to put towards their next purchase.

Some people do not like to buy gift cards, but sometimes it is the best option for a picky recipient as it allows them to find their own gift – it is better to get them something they will use than to waste your money buying a gift they might not like. A gift card for Amazon is a perfect option; everyone can find something they need or like on Amazon.
