5 Things to Consider When Choosing Your First Bong

Size and style are two of the decisions you'll have.

Choosing your first bong is a wild experience. Bongs, of course, come in all shapes and sizes. Whether you’re looking for a small and discreet bong to take with you on the go, or a top class bong that will impress your friends, there is something for everyone. This post will outline five things you should consider when making your purchase.

The Size

One of the very first things that you’ll have to decide when choosing your first bong is how big do you want it to be. If you are new to using bongs, you might not be aware that the size of the bong impacts your experience. First and foremost, the size of the bong will influence the practicality of its use; you won’t easily just be able to carry it around or consume it on the go if you have chosen a big bong. More than this, if you have decided that you want a small bong to consume on the go, you need to be aware that smaller bongs have harsher hits, this is because the size of the chamber is small.

What it’s Made From

The next thing that you’ll have to keep in mind when choosing your first bong is the material that it’s made from. This is because the material that the bong is made from will influence the taste, as well as durability. The most common material that bongs are usually made from is borosilicate glass, since they don’t impact the flavor and can withstand being dropped once or twice. Another common material for bongs would be silicone and they have become popular since they are virtually indestructible. If you’re looking for a bong on the cheaper end, then you might want to consider an acrylic bong, although these bongs don’t have the best taste profile.

What it Looks Like

The next thing that you’ll have to consider is what the actual bong looks like. In today’s day and age, we have come a long way in terms of the designs of bongs. Now you can get small bongs, big bongs, medium bongs, bongs that have intricate designs, incredibly simple bongs, and more.
You can also get colorful bongs, monotone bongs, or just a pitch-black bong. It’s important to choose a design that you like since you will probably be using it for the foreseeable future.

Is it Customizable?

One of the most important considerations you’ll have to make when choosing a bong is whether or not it is customizable. Not many people are aware that there are many attachments that you can get for your bong that change the experience.

For example, you can get a percolator for your bong which makes the hit from the bong much smoother. Perhaps you want an ash catcher, which will prevent any ash from getting inside your bong. The biggest determining factor of whether your bong is customizable is the size and the material. Customizable bongs are usually made of glass and they are usually quite big, so if you are going to be getting a small bong you need to be aware that you won’t be able to add any attachments to it.

Level of Maintenance

Since you are looking for a new bong, it’s safe to say that you have probably used a bong in the past. This means that you should also know that maintenance is a very important part of owning a bong. This is something that you’ll have to consider when choosing a bong since different materials and bong designs can be either easier to clean, or more difficult.

For example, when it comes to silicone bongs, these can just be put in a dishwasher. Another material that’s easy to clean as glass bongs. You might be wondering why you need to clean the bong; This is because the leftover resin can stay in the bowl or the water that is used to use the bong can get dirty. If your bong is not cleaned regularly, it will impact the flavor.
