5 Clever Ways To Earn More Money Outside Of Your Job

If you want to increase your opportunities to earn more money, you can’t simply rely on one job.

You’ve probably heard about the fact that both millionaires and successful businessmen have multiple sources of income as opposed to just one. If you want to increase your opportunities to earn more money, then you can’t simply rely on your one job to bring the money in (though some exceptions can be made for high-paying jobs).

Earning money outside your job can also help you if you’re in a tricky financial situation. Whether you have some debts that you want to pay off quickly, or perhaps you want to justify your splurge on an expensive holiday, then you’re probably looking for other ways you can boost your income.

The good news is that there are many things you can do to earn money outside of your job. Here are some of our top tips:

  1. Sell Old Belongings

If you’re looking to earn money fast, then selling your belongings is one of the quickest ways to do so. If you’re clearing out your wardrobe, then sites like eBay or Depop are a perfect platform for making a quick sale. Simply snap a picture of your clothes and post them online along with a description. Pictures of you wearing the clothes are more likely to generate a sale, since people can get an idea of what the item looks like when it’s on.

You could also try selling your old jewelry pieces, just make sure you find a reputable jewelry buyer who’ll give you a good price for your belongings.

Other ideas for what to sell include old, unused makeup, books, electronics or pieces of furniture. Any larger items tend to do well on Facebook Marketplace, since you’re selling to your local area and won’t have to worry about shipping fees.

If you have old electronics like phones lying around, then even if they’re not worth much, sites like Mazuma Mobile will happily recycle your mobile- and they might even pay you for doing so. You could also sell your old electronics at shops like Game and CeX, who will be able to offer you instant cash once they’ve checked the condition of your gadgets.

  1. Try Your Luck At Gambling

When done strategically and safely, gambling can be a great way to increase your monthly income. It’s all about choosing your strengths — if you’re a big football fan, then why not try putting down a bet before a game?

There are plenty of online sites that you can try your luck on. While winning the lottery might seem a little far out of your reach, it’s worth remembering that you have to be in it to win it! Bingo-lovers could put some money into an online bingo site, or if casinos are more of your thing, then why not check out the online casinos that are on offer?

The most important thing is to stick to a strict gambling budget and allocate a time each week to do it. The idea is to earn money, not lose it- so if you find yourself losing more money than you’re gaining, then you may want to re-think the sites you’re using.

Naturally, you’ll want to be putting your time and money into an online casino that offers a high payout. Sites like Online Casinos offer a comprehensive guide of all of the top-rated, highest payout online casinos in the UK. Their guide allows you to easily compare different high payout casinos all from one place, so it won’t take you long to find a site that you love. Consider this post to find out more about high payout casinos.

  1. Rent Out A Room

While this idea might not be for everyone, if you have a spare room and you’re okay with a stranger living in your house, then renting out your room is a great way to earn money. You could advertise to long term tenants, or alternatively, why not offer your room to those who only need it for a few nights?

It’s pretty straightforward to rent out your room on sites like Airbnb- but make sure that you’re sticking to the rules! In most cases, it’s not legal to sublet any of your property if you’re only renting it yourself. However, if you own the house, then you should be good to go.

  1. Rent Out Your Garage

If you’re looking for an option that’s less invasive than renting out your room, then consider renting out your garage or car parking space. This is a great money-making method particularly if you live in a touristy area- so if you live close to a beach or in a city, then chances are you’ll have a huge potential customer base.

Not only can car park prices be expensive, but people may feel more comfortable leaving their car on somebody’s driveaway or in a garage, than they would leaving it in a car park. What’s more, in busy times like the summer holidays, car parks can soon fill up, leaving people searching for alternative options. There are plenty of sites online where you can list your garage space, so you’ll be raking in the money in no time.

  1. Freelance

Whether you’re a videographer, writer, artist or flower arranger, if you have a hobby or talent, then freelancing is a great way to get the ball rolling to become a professional. If you’re a media creative, then you could list yourself on a site like Upwork, which will help to match you with clients who need work doing for them.

Here is information on freelance editing jobs.

Those who are good at drawing could think about selling their art online. Many artists offer personalized drawings of subjects like pets or family photos, which they can earn quite a lot of money from. If you’re into crafts like jewelry making, then sites like Etsy allow you to create your own online shop for free where you can sell all of your handmade items.

It can take a long time to earn a good amount of money from freelancing, so it helps if you genuinely enjoy and are committed to your hobby. However, if you stick at it, freelancing could even become your full-time job one day.
